The results of the vote on gay marriage were sobering. It’s hard to be given such harsh evidence that you’re a second class citizen, expected to live in fear, and denied the right to love and stand by a partner in the extreme moments of life, in the courtroom, in the hospital, at the deathbed.
But at least the religious right will have a much harder time sticking an evil judge on the supreme court now. We can rejoice in this, it’s a great and important victory, for everybody in the country, even the religious people, altho they may not realize it.
