I Have To Admit, It Warms My Heart…

Altho it makes me feel a little chagrin, too. Why? Because I’m not all that interested in the idea and ideal of marriage. I’m think I may be stuck in some kind of perpetual childhood - I get chances at being really close to someone, to having a real partner, but all these conflicts arise, and, the truth be told, I always end up pushing people away and keeping them at arms length. Or further.
I’ve been known to be a real jerk about “fidelity”, too. I’m not all that excited about being exclusive. Let me tell you that’s an easy way to keep people at arms length.
But, when I look at the bottom line, I know what the real problem is. I’m not out, at least, not officially, it’s one of those deals where If I trust you I’m open about it, but I don’t trust the people I work with, the government, my landlord, I guess most health professionals, basically anyone who keeps records and who can hurt me.
I live in a little city, not in a big city, and if you are not in a big city being out can be dangerous. Sometimes actually physically dangerous, and definitely financially dangerous.
And all you guys who live in big citys who get all preachy and self-righteous about being out can just lick my ass. (No, really, you can, I really love that…)
